My '97 Escort is a great solution to gas prices for a nice economical and inexpensive car. I bought this one for my daughter to go off to college in and that was 15 years ago! We've put roughly 100K miles on it and replaced the engine at about 145K. Just recently put new tires on it and did routine services. The A/C has been gone through and blows nice and cold. This car would be perfect for a reliable commuter or as a first car. Gets between 26 and 34 mpg according to EPA estimates. It is clean, thrifty, simple, and easy to repair. She drives great and is now looking for a new home!
